The challenge
An artist wanted a store that presented the work the way a gallery would, with a specific visual reference in mind, and wanted changes to be traceable rather than accumulated in the theme editor over months.
What was built
The store was built on the Atelier theme against a written design specification that covered typography, spacing, image treatment and page structure. Every theme change was logged in a session record, and a set of live-theme safety rules kept development on a duplicate theme until each change was reviewed. An SEO workstream ran alongside, covering collection structure and page metadata for the artwork categories.
The result
A store that matches the reference the artist had in mind, with a change log that makes future work by anyone straightforward. The specification-and-log approach is now how I run every Shopify theme project.
